Survivor Participants:
The Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure® is a day to honor Survivors and remember those we have lost. If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, you are considered a Survivor, no matter where you might be in the course of your treatment.
By registering for the Race as a Survivor, you are entitled to special gifts and benefits. Registered Survivors will receive a complimentary pink Race T-shirt (in addition to the white Race T-shirt) and pink Race hat compliments of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. When you wear your pink T-shirt and hat, you and a guest are automatically welcomed in the Pink Hat Café, a private area of the Race grounds with complimentary refreshments and fellowship with other survivors making the day truly special.
Before the Race, Survivors are encouraged to gather outside the Pink Hat Café at 7:15 a.m. for the special tribute to Survivors. A military procession will lead the ladies (and men!) in pink to the stage where they will be serenaded by the amazing voice of Linda Martin. There also is a group Survivor photo taken before the tribute and is mailed at a later date at no charge to each survivor.
