We are expecting a crowd of up to 30,000 Race participants at the 2009 Susan G.Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure®.  Because of the course layout and after Race activities, there will be LIMITED city parking available at the Alamodome the day of the Race. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, carpool, use the Via Park & Ride Service and utilize the surface lots around downtown and at Rivercenter Mall. Tune into 1200 WOAI on your way to the Race for the latest traffic reports.

Parking Lot B is city operated and located at the Alamodome. The charge for parking in this lot is $25 for buses and $10 for cars. All parking available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

8- Durango Lot (700 E. Durango) - opens at 6:30 am
12- Houston / Nolan Lot (Houston @ Elm) - opens at 5:30 am
15- Marina Garage (850 E. Commerce) - 24 Hours
20- Riverbend Garage (210 N. Presa) - 24 Hours

  

Via Park & Ride
The locations will be Crossroads Mall at 151 Crossroads Blvd. and Blossom Athletic Center at 12002 Jones-Maltsberger Rd.  The first pick up is 6 a.m. from the Park & Ride locations and last pick up from the Alamodome is 11 a.m.  Park & Ride roundtrip fares include: $5 for Adults, $3 for Senior Citizens 62 years and older, $3 for Children ages 5-11 and free for Children 4 and under.

Carpool Recommended for all Participants:
Carpooling will help minimize the Race Day traffic as well as insure that your team will arrive together.  Determine the vehicles available within your team and a meeting place for Race morning.  Allow enough time to assemble your team before departing to the Race site and add an extra 15 minutes as a precaution.  Remind your team members of meeting time and location the week of the Race.

Parking at the Alamodome:
The Alamodome will be charging $10 for cars and $25 for bus parking. It is a first-come, first-serve basis

Utilizing Bus Service Recommend for Teams of 50 or More
Special bus parking will be located on a first-come basis in Lot B for $25. If your group numbers 50 or more, we suggest considering a charter bus service.  Determine a meeting place for Race morning, allow enough time to assemble your team before departing to the Race site and add an extra 15 minutes as a precaution.  Remind your team members of meeting time and location the week of the Race.

Street Closures
The San Antonio Police Department will begin closing the streets affected by the Race beginning at 7 a.m. Those streets will not re-open until after 9:30 a.m.

Race Awards: Competitive Division
All participants who sign up for the competitive division will be chip-timed. Timing chip pick-up on Race day. Course is USATF certified TX02018ETM. 

      Awards will be presented on Race Day to:

              Top three breast cancer survivors
              Overall top female and male
              First Place Master (40-59) breast cancer survivor
              First Place Senior (60+) breast cancer survivor

All winners will be posted on the Web at http://www.komensantonio.org/ shortly after the Race. 
No duplicate awards will be given.

** The Race organizers STRONGLY recommend that you register for the Race online or at The Alamo Quarry Market (see Onsite Registration for details). Competitive Race Registration is prohibited the day of the event and those who want to register for the Race the day of the event are not guaranteed a T-shirt or the opportunity to walk the Race route.
